If that does not happen our bank (BBVA) will deduct the transfer expenses and then, Madeira Regional Archives won’t be able to satisfy your request.
Bank transfer. Procedure:
- Deposit made to the account of Governo Regional da Madeira (NIB: 0019 0045 0020 0002 51094; IBAN: PT50 0019 0045 0020 0002 51094; Código bancário SWIFT BBVAPTPL) with transfer charges borne by the depositor.

Attention: Every bank cheque signed out of Portugal and received by this institution takes about a month to be processed. This is due to the time Government Treasurer’s office needs to verify the cheque covering (to assure it is not a rubber cheque). Therefore, we advice you to opt for a bank transfer of money otherwise your requirement will surely take more than a month to be finished.
